Ditch the Mommy Guilt with Humor
A new book with a controversial title reassures not-so-perfect parents that they aren’t alone.
“Parenting can be difficult, right?” asks ER Physician Dr. Travis Stork. “You’re going to make some mistakes, but it’s important to have a sense of humor!” That’s why two moms, Alicia Ybarbo and Mary Ann Zoellner, collect tales of parents’ not-so-shining moments.

Their latest book is “[Expletive] Mom for All Seasons.” Mary Ann says, “It’s a saucy title for an important message: Everybody’s going to have parenting fails. You can either laugh about them or cry about them.”
Alicia adds, “It’s a sense of relief when you share that story [of shoddy parenting], because you realize you’re just like everyone else.” They hope that their book will inspire parents to love themselves as much as they love their children.

“The perfection is in the imperfection,” concludes Dr. Stork.
